Laura Worthington has been a graphic designer since 1997 but has now shifted her focus to type design and hand lettering due to serendipity and a lifelong intrigue. She also does a variety of illustrative works. Her interest in letters began at nine years old when she learnt italic printing in elementary school. She taught herself different calligraphic styles from any book she could find on the subject. In college, she was pointed to a design book's lettering section by a professor and she was fascinated. Hand lettering is an artistic and spontaneous task, yet controlled, as each letter perfectly approaches or intertwines with the next, demonstrating flowing precision.
