Desktop: for use in both personal and professional contexts, on desktop applications with a font menu. For instance: Installation of the font on your Mac OS X or Windows machine, usage of the font within desktop applications such as Microsoft Word, Mac Pages, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, etc. Create and print documents, as well as static images (.jpeg, .tiff, .png). Desktop licenses depend on the number of font users. The number of users can be adjusted by selecting the quantity dropdown option on Buying Choices or Cart pages. Check the listing foundry's Desktop license agreement as some restrictions may apply— such as use in logos/trademarks, geographic restrictions (number of locations), and products for sale.
Webfont: Use for your website on a single domain. Web design agencies or hosting providers responsible for multiple websites may not share a single webfont license across multiple sites. Each webpage using the webfont kit counts as a single pageview for each webfont within the kit. For graphic image display on the website, consider a Desktop license.
App: This license type is chosen when developing an app for iOS, Android or Windows Phone, as the font file will be embedded into your mobile applications’ codes.
Digital Ad/Email: Used for embedding fonts into digital ads, for instance ads built using HTML5. A kit containing webfonts suitable for use within digital ads is provided. The kit may be shared with third parties engaged to produce ad creatives, but buyer responsibility applies.
Electronic Doc: This license can embed the font into an electronic publication like an eBook, eMagazine, eNewspaper or interactive PDF. The Electronic Doc license is determined by the number of publications that use the font. Each issue is counted as a separate publication.
