Futura is a geometric sans-serif typeface designed by Paul Renner and released in 1927.
With its minimalistic forms, rigid geometry, and lack of ornamentation, it became emblematic of the aesthetics and ideals of early 20th century modernism and the Bauhaus movement.
Initially met with controversy, it went on to become one of the most successful and influential typefaces of the century.
Extensive Futura families are offered by modern type foundries.
Due to its versatility and timeless appeal, Futura continues to be widely used for print, digital, motion graphics and environmental design needing a striking, contemporary look with a nod to history.

Veronika Elsner and Günther Flake established Elsner+Flake Designstudios in March 1986. They utilized their ten years of independent work experience in type design, typography, and digitizing fonts and logos. The primary objective of the firm is to continuously grow their digital font library. Currently, Elsner+Flake Digital Library, recognized and used globally, consists of over 2,500 fonts available in Mac PostScript, PC PostScript, and PC Truetype. In terms of typography, they avoid electronic alteration, all italics are digitized from the original artwork. Text and headline typefaces are designed so that they have matching cap heights and contain standard character layouts.
