Veronika Elsner and Günther Flake founded Elsner+Flake Designstudios in March 1986, leveraging their freelance experience in type design, typography, and font and logo digitizing. The company's general aim is the creation and continuous growth of a digital font library. Presently, Elsner+Flake Digital Library is globally recognized and contains over 2,500 font types, available in Mac PostScript, PC PostScript, and PC Truetype formats. Electronic modifications are avoided, with all italics digitized from original artwork. Text and headline fonts have matching cap heights and include standard character layouts.

* Electronic Doc: This license allows embedding the font in electronic publications such as eBooks, eNewspapers or interactive PDFs. It is based on the number of publications in which the font is used. For font usage in images shown on the ePub cover, consider a desktop license.
* Digital Ad/Email: This license is for embedding fonts into digital ads, such as HTML5 ads. Although HTML5 ads use webfonts, the Digital Ads EULA enables usage in digital ads and on advertising networks. The usage patterns and prices vary from that of a Webfont license.
