Desktop: This is intended for usage on a desktop workstation. Relevant for both personal and commercial use, it can be applied in any desktop program that has a font function e.g. Microsoft Word, Mac Pages, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and others. It can be used to create and print documents, plus static images (.jpeg, .tiff, .png). The license is tally-based, meaning it’s determined by the total number of users who want access to the font. The quantity can be modified in the Buying Choices or Cart pages. Please examine the foundry's Desktop license agreement because it might contain certain limitations related to using the font in logos/trademarks, limiting usage to certain locations, or for saleable products. In terms of adding more users later, the Desktop licenses are cumulative. If you require an increased total of users, just make a new order for the same Desktop package, based on the number of additional users. Webfont: This is for website use only, and is restricted to a sole domain. Agencies managing multiple websites (like web design or hosting providers) cannot share a Webfont license across multiple sites. Each time the webpage incorporating the webfont kit is accessed (for example, the webfont kit CSS that contains the @font-face rule is activated) the system will count a single pageview for each webfont in the webfont kit. For applying fonts in graphic images shown on the website, a Desktop license might be more suitable. MyFonts has three webfont license categorizations: Annual, Pay Once, and Pay As You Go. Only one will be available for a chosen webfont. App: This license is specific to mobile application development. It's the right choice if you're creating an app for iOS, Android, or Windows Phone and plan to embed the font file into your mobile application's code. Digital Ad/Email: This license is for embedding fonts into digital ads, such as HTML5 ads. We provide a kit with webfonts that is compatible with digital ads, like banners. This kit could be shared with third-party contractors designing the ad creatives on your behalf, but the management responsibility is entirely yours. The crucial difference between a Webfont license and a Digital Ads license is that the latter has terms permitting usage in digital advertisements and ad networks, in addition to different usage patterns compared to websites. Digital advertisements can experience fluctuating impressions, unlike the steadier pageviews of most websites. The pricing reflects this, making a Digital Ad license more cost-effective. For an ad campaign where the number of impressions is predetermined, you can pay for that number upfront. If the impression count is unclear until the end of the campaign, you can settle the balance at the end of every month. Electronic Doc: This license type is for embedding the font into electronic texts such as eBooks, eMagazines, eNewspapers, or interactive PDFs. An Electronic Doc license is determined by the number of publications where the font is used. Each instance accounts as an individual publication. Variations in format or region don't qualify as separate issues. If a publication offers free updates to its earlier customers, there is no need for a new license. However, every new version made available to the public is considered as a separate publication.
