John Nahmias, born in 1935, has spent over half a century as a Graphic Designer. He is semi-retired now, pursuing his long-held interest in designing script, gothic, and roman fonts. To date, he has published over 150 typefaces. His career began in 1952, in a New York studio under the guidance of type designer Lucian Bernhard. After a stint in the military, he resumed his work in the advertising and graphic design field. His Foundry, JONAHFONTS, incorporates his name - JOhn-NAHmias, or JONAH + FONTS. He has an extensive collection of over 150 fonts available for viewing. His fonts, SCRIPTONAH and CASUAL BRUSH, were recognized as 'Our Favorite Typefaces of 2007' by Typographica®.
