Rian Hughes
Device Fonts, the font branch of Rian Hughes' Device studio based in Kew Gardens, London, was an early contributor to FontShop's FontFont range. It was established in 1997 to accommodate Hughes' expanding library. The studio has released over 200 unique typefaces, comprising more than 1000 individual weights. They have designed custom typefaces for a wide range of clients including Mac User, 2000AD, and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Rian received his education at the London College of Communication in London. Prior to setting up his own studio, he worked for an advertising agency, Smash Hits, i-D magazine, and record sleeve design entities. Currently, under the Device banner, he offers design, custom type, and illustration for advertising campaigns, record sleeves, and books.
