The font Fette Deutsche Schrift, alternatively known as Koch-Fraktur or Kochschrift, was designed by Rudolf Koch for the Klingspor foundry over the course of two years (1908-1910). A publication in the September 1921 issue of “Das Plakat” served as the font's basis. The Fette Deutsche Schrift comes with an array of features including swash capitals for dropcaps, contextual alternates, glyphs for line endings, ligatures, discretionary ligatures specifically for German, ornaments, and many more OpenType features. It is also compatible with all European languages that use Latin alphabets, including slashed S and slashed long s which were used in the old Latvian orthography until the 1930s.
