Hubert Jocham Type Foundry

The personal foundry of Hubert Jocham, Hubert Jocham Type, was initiated in 2007. In the early stages of his career during the 1980s, Jocham was employed in a print shop where he worked with classic lead setting. He pursued his studies in graphic design in two different countries, specifically in Augsburg, Germany and Preston, England. His degree project was centered on the history of the italic type of the renaissance and the correlation between roman and italic. In 1998, he relocated to London to be part of Henrion, Ludlow and Schmidt, focusing on corporate branding. Here, he was responsible for creating brand marks and logotypes for multinational corporations along with designing their corporate manuals. He was also introduced to the art directors of lifestyle magazines such as Frank and Arena. At present he continues his work as a type consultant and type designer.
