About "Museo"

Museo is a geometric sans-serif typeface designed by Jos Buivenga as a readable, techno-inspired font family.

It comes in 5 weights - from thin to black - with support for Central European languages and Esperanto.

The extensive OpenType font features include ligatures, alternates, case-sensitive forms, fractions, and proportional lining/tabular figures.

The Museo family encompasses coordinated companion designs: Museo Slab, Museo Sans, and Museo Sans Rounded.

Selected Museo fonts are currently offered free to promote experimental use across design projects needing a sleek, linear, and legible typographic voice.

Its arched terminals and rectangular punctuation give Museo a technological personality that remains accessible via ample counters and x-height.

In 2008, Dutchman Jos Buivenga, who already had a substantial following, and his foundry, exljbris, became part of MyFonts. On his website, his followers had the opportunity to watch and discuss the design of his fonts, and also were able to download the beta versions entirely free of cost. As he transitioned his free website into a single-person foundry, he introduced his first commercially available typeface in a novel and ultimately successful manner. With this particular typeface, Museo, Jos became the premier designer to give away several weights in a comprehensive font family at no cost.
