Elsner+Flake Foundry

Veronika Elsner and Günther Flake founded Elsner+Flake Designstudios in March 1986, leveraging their freelance experience in type design, typography, and font and logo digitizing. The company's general aim is the creation and continuous growth of a digital font library. Presently, Elsner+Flake Digital Library is globally recognized and contains over 2,500 font types, available in Mac PostScript, PC PostScript, and PC Truetype formats. Electronic modifications are avoided, with all italics digitized from original artwork. Text and headline fonts have matching cap heights and include standard character layouts.

from
  • Desktop: permitted for workstation use. It is suitable for a variety of personal and professional uses in desktop applications with font options. For instance: Installation of the font on your Mac OS X or Windows system, use the font in desktop apps like Microsoft Word, Mac Pages, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, etc. Able to create and print documents, as well as static images (.jpeg, .tiff, .png). Licenses are based on the number of users of the fonts, which can be adjusted by altering the quantity dropdown option on Buying Choices or Cart pages. Please make sure to review the listing foundry's license agreement, as certain restrictions may apply. Desktop licenses are cumulative, meaning additional users require a new order for the same package, reflecting the number of added users.

  • Webfont: allowable for usage on a single domain. Each website run by agencies must have its own webfont license. Each loading of the webpage using the webfont kit counts as a single pageview for each webfont within the kit. For graphic image usage on the website, consider a Desktop license. There are three types of webfont licenses: Annual, Pay Once, and Pay As You Go. Only one of these would be available for a specified webfont.

  • App: suited for embedding in mobile applications. This license type should be selected when developing an app for iOS, Android, or Windows Phone, and you want to embed the font file in your mobile application's code.

  • Electronic Doc: applicable for embedding in e-text products. The Electronic Doc license lets you embed the font in electronic publications like eBooks, eMagazines, eNewspapers, or interactive PDFs. The license is based on the number of publications in which the font is used. Updated versions of publications that are free to previous customers do not need a new license, otherwise, each new version released counts as a separate publication.

  • Digital Ad/Email: suits for use in HTML5 ads. The license lets you embed fonts into digital ads, built using HTML5. A kit containing webfonts for use within digital ads will be supplied. Digital Ads EULA has specific terms that make usage in digital ads and on advertising networks allowed. Advertising impressions can fluctuate significantly month-to-month, unlike website's consistent pageviews. Prices reflect these variations, this making it lesser expense to use a Digital Ad license. For campaigns where the number of impressions is unknown, you can true up at the end of each calendar month.
