Intellecta Design, a Brazilian typefoundry, is dedicated to typeface research and revivals of various ancient typefaces and handwriting styles. This unique research involves scouring historical churches, museums, antiquaries and similar institutions for old books and documents from which to develop fonts. The company has a vast collection of rare catalogues and books from the XVI to XIX century to aid in their study to digitize extinct fonts and unconventional handwriting patterns. This kind of research is rare in Brazil. Furthermore, Intellecta Design's team is also committed to inventing new and contemporary typefaces suitable for all applications. They claim to have created and own the largest typeface library in Latin America.
