Alan Meeks, a trained lettering artist and craftsman, began his career at his first design studio, where he developed his first font design, Virgin Roman. In 1974, he joined Letraset where he helped build a substantial type library for dry transfer sheets. Given Meeks' traditional approach to creating letter shapes by hand, designers like him are considered a unique rarity.
