The first letterforms perfected by Charles Borges de Oliveira were made with paint and a brush during his apprenticeship as a sign painter, where he learned to appreciate the process of creation of letters. This appreciation evolved into a love for letters and led him to apply his skills in creating a font named Sarah Script for his wife. In 2003, he founded Borges Lettering, a studio that offers high-quality fonts and custom hand-lettering work. His debut font, Sarah Script, set a precedent for the success of his subsequent fonts. Two of his typefaces, Louisiana and Alpine Script, have been spotlighted in our Rising Stars Newsletters and have spent time on our Best Seller list.
